I'm a side-sleeper who uses a body pillow, and after 7 months, I think I'm satisfied with the queen mattress. Maybe I'll add a pillow-top cover and then love it. For $800 though (as of June 2024), it's a steal compared to the $1,800 I almost spent on a better known (and marketed) brand. Glad I came across Boring on reddit! My subjective pros and cons:
Pros:
-no sinking-in feeling like in memory foam
-little if any heat retention, even with a waterproof cover
-good, even pressure relief
-great height, I prefer a lower mattress as it's easier to get on and off
-nice quality cover
-not too bouncy
Cons:
-edge support isn't ideal but good enough
-no side handles which would've made it easier to rotate
-wish there was an inch or so of some material on top for a pillow-top "loft" feeling
Misc:
-lengthy trial period and warranty gave me confidence taking a chance buying a mattress online for the first time
-easy to unpack and fully decompressed in 2-3 days. Very mild scent dissipitated in a day or two
-I once emailed customer service with a question and received a response on the same day
Personal context: This is my first hybrid. I switched from a traditional spring mattress which had me tossing and turning due to pressure points and general unevenness built-up over 6 years (it was probably 3-4 years old by the time I started using it). My previous mattress of 4 years was a cheap Bob's discount full memory foam one which I ended up hating due to the awful heat retention and the sinking-in feeling.
