The Boring AF is medium-firm, but only you can decide if it’s firm enough for you. It’s rated 7/10 and has a firm-yet-forgiving feel without the deep sink of traditional memory foam. For the firmest feel, use a flat, rigid foundation or closely spaced slats. Our 365-night sleep trial gives you time to test it at home.

Yes! The Boring Mattress is designed to be universally comfortable, offering a medium-firm feel that supports side, back, and stomach sleepers alike.

We’ve designed the Boring mattress with breathability in mind, making it a great option for hot sleepers. Both our Hybrid and All-Foam mattresses incorporate materials that help promote airflow and temperature regulation. The Hybrid’s coil base offers natural ventilation, which helps reduce heat buildup, while the All-Foam mattress uses breathable foam layers to allow heat to dissipate. While no mattress is 100% “cooling,” many of our customers who tend to sleep hot have found our mattress to be a significant improvement over others, especially compared to all-foam options without airflow.

Yes, a topper can make your mattress feel softer and add pressure relief. It works best when the mattress is still supportive overall. If your mattress already has a dip or sag, the topper will follow that shape rather than fix it.

The Boring mattress is designed to be perfectly comfortable on its own, but if you’re looking for extra plushness, adding a topper can be a great option. With the topper, the mattress shifts from a 6/10 medium-firm feel to a 5/10 medium-plush feel, giving you a little more softness without sacrificing support.

No fiberglass. It’s worth checking, though, especially since some brands are now in a rush to remove fiberglass from their beds. Boring never used it, never will. We are using a premium alternative compared to widely available, cheaper options used by others. We pay extra to keep you happy. Most customers notice little to no smell when unboxing their new mattress. There may be a slight odor from the packaging process, which is completely normal and usually fades within a few hours to a couple of days. For the best results, we recommend letting your mattress fully expand in a well-ventilated room. The smell is not harmful and typically disappears quickly. We use CertiPUR-US certified foams, which are free from harmful chemicals like ozone depleters, formaldehyde, and heavy metals, and are tested for low VOC emissions to minimize off-gassing.

Our mattresses are designed to work with a variety of foundations, but for the best sleep experience, we generally recommend a solid, supportive base with slats no more than 3 inches apart. Here are a few options:

• Platform Bed: A solid, flat surface with slats provides excellent support and doesn’t require a box spring.
• Adjustable Base: Our mattresses are compatible with most adjustable bases, which can offer added comfort for those who prefer a customizable sleep position.
• Box Spring: If you prefer a traditional box spring, especially for added height, just ensure it’s in good condition and offers stable support.

No, you don’t need a box spring for your Boring mattress. It works with any standard foundation, including a platform bed, slatted frame, bunkie board, adjustable base, or box spring. If you use slats, keep them no more than 5 inches apart for proper support. Typical spacing is 2 to 3 inches.

We recommend rotating your mattress 180 degrees, head to foot, once or twice a year. This helps promote even wear over time. Don’t flip it over, since it’s designed with a specific top and bottom.

We want you to be completely satisfied, so if for any reason you’re not in love with your mattress during the trial period, you can return it for a full refund. All Boring accessories are backed by a 90-night sleep trial. If you’re not completely satisfied, simply reach out to our support team within your trial period and we’ll help coordinate the return process for a full refund.

Your mattress typically ships within 1 to 2 business days. We make and ship our mattresses from Phoenix, Arizona, and we’ll send your FedEx tracking number as soon as your order is on the way. During periods of high order volume, processing may take longer.

Every mattress is made to order in Arizona and usually ships within 1–2 business days. Most orders arrive within 3–6 business days, depending on location. Around major holidays, it can take some extra time. We’ll send you tracking details once it’s on its way!

We’ll email your FedEx tracking information as soon as your order ships. We usually ship within 1–2 business days, though production delays can occasionally take longer. Frames and adjustable bases ship separately, so their tracking may arrive in a different email, sometimes a day or two after the mattress tracking.

Yes, you can place your order and ask us to hold the shipment for a short period. Reply to your confirmation email with your preferred delivery date, and we’ll time shipping to arrive on or just after it. FedEx Ground handles the final delivery, so we can’t guarantee an exact arrival date.

Due to the size and weight of the package, a general ballpark estimate is an additional $200-$300 (non-refundable) for 2-day shipping via Fedex.

Yes, we can update your shipping address after you place your order. Contact us as soon as possible with the correct address. If your order hasn’t shipped, we’ll update it or submit the change to our shipping team.

Yes, we can cancel your order while it’s still unshipped. We’ll issue a full refund to your original payment method, which typically appears within 3–5 business days. If you need a different size, you can place a new order whenever you’re ready.

We currently only ship within the continental United States.

Old mattress removal is free in California with your new Boring mattress purchase. Once you’ve placed your order, contact us and we’ll arrange the pickup. Outside California, we don’t offer removal, but you can reach out to us to get recommendation for local pickup providers.

Many cities offer free large-item pickup through municipal trash services once or twice a year. You can search online to find availability and instructions on how to schedule a bulk trash disposal appointment in your area.

Alternatively, many of our customers have successfully used a service called LoadUp to arrange mattress disposal. You can check pricing and schedule a pickup through their website at Mattress Disposal Plus.

Yes, you can place your order at our Tempe showroom, it’ll ship straight from our warehouse to your home. No need to lift or lug; we’ll take care of delivery.

Appointments take priority so each visitor gets a quiet, private space to test the mattresses.
