Boring stuff is now HSA/FSA eligible
How it works
Eligible Boring stuff
Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) are tax-advantaged accounts that can be used to pay for qualified health expenses. Most people get them through their employer. Ask HR if you're not sure.
HSAs pair with a high-deductible health plan, and funds don't expire. FSAs are independent of your health plan; elections happen each October–November for the following year, and FSA funds expire at the end of each calendar year. HSAs and FSAs are only available in the US.
Truemed is our payment partner that lets qualifying customers use HSA/FSA funds toward eligible Boring products used to treat, mitigate, or prevent a diagnosed medical condition. Truemed works with a network of licensed practitioners who review a short health survey and, if you qualify, issue a Letter of Medical Necessity that makes your purchase eligible for reimbursement.
A Letter of Medical Necessity is a document from a licensed practitioner confirming that a product helps treat, mitigate, or prevent a diagnosed medical condition. HSA/FSA plan administrators often require this letter before approving reimbursement. Truemed handles the issuance based on the health survey you complete at checkout.
