The Boring Hybrid has a cushioned surface with medium-firm support underneath. Here’s what goes into it.

Responsive foam cushions pressure points and springs back as you move, so it’s easy to change positions.

A breathable knit cover, open-cell foams, and a coil base let air move through the mattress.

Individually wrapped coils respond to your body. Foam around the edges adds support when you sit or sleep near the side.

We compare Boring Hybrid with Purple Restore® Hybrid, and Boring AF® with The Purple Mattress® (the original). The first pair uses coils for support. The second pair has no coils, but Purple’s polymer Grid means it is not an all-foam mattress. All prices are for Queen mattresses without bases or bedding bundles.
Boring uses fast-recovery Energex™ foam that cushions your body and springs back as you move. Our Hybrid adds pocket springs for a medium-firm 6/10 feel. Boring AF® has a foam support core and a firmer 7/10 feel.
Purple uses a flexible polymer GelFlex Grid as its top comfort layer. Purple describes Restore Hybrid as medium and The Purple Mattress as medium-firm. If you’re used to the Grid, expect a different surface feel from Boring. Firmness labels are each brand’s descriptions, not a shared testing scale.
Boring gives you 365 nights from delivery. Purple offers 100 nights from delivery and requires at least 21 nights before a return. Boring’s policy has no minimum wait.
Purple’s return policy allows transportation charges to be deducted from the refund. Both brands have eligibility and condition requirements. Read Boring’s sleep-trial terms and Purple’s return policy for full details.
Both brands offer a 10-year limited mattress warranty. Purple covers its mattress cover separately for 2 years. These warranties cover specified defects and have exclusions; they do not cover every change in comfort.

Email or text us within 365 nights of delivery. We help coordinate pickup or a suitable donation and cover pickup for mattresses in suitable condition. Returns are limited to one mattress per household within 12 months. Product-care requirements and bundle refund adjustments apply. Read the full sleep-trial terms.
Our mattresses are assembled to order in Arizona and typically ship in 1–2 business days. Delivery time depends on your location. Check current shipping status before ordering.
Use a firm, flat foundation, a platform bed with slats no more than 3 inches apart, or a compatible adjustable base. Traditional box springs with actual springs and placing the mattress directly on the floor are not recommended. See compatible foundations.
All standard mattress sizes are available: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, Cal King.
Boring mattresses are fiberglass-free. Purple lists a fiberglass-free fire sock for both current models compared here: Restore Hybrid and The Purple Mattress. These specifications apply to the current models, not necessarily older mattresses.
